Which NHS users use solely the Sharpsmart system? How many users continue to use single-use sharps containers as well? Are you recommending a dual system?

There are over 85 NHS Hospitals using the Sharpsmart system, and we can provide references and contacts for all customers that we work with. Each customer we work with has different requirements within the management of sharps. Whilst Sharpsmart can provide a full solution for a healthcare environment we understand that there could still be a need for the use of smaller containers for use with areas such as Patient returns and community usage and potentially other areas where the use of smaller containers (0.5ltr -1ltr) is required. This has never been cited as an issue therefore not sure as to what is being implicated by the question. We provide whatever solution is required including our own single use system if a specifi c application cannot be serviced by a safety engineered system. Usually following procurement of Sharpsmart there may be situations where a single use container suits due to low volume of use. That is not an issue as we can support any solution with your own choice of container or our own single use container. The priority is that the customer receives the safest, most compliant, efficient and sustainable solution and we analyse every application before installation. Sharpsmart are the distributor if the Sharpak range of containers, which we believe are safest single-use containers available. Most customers who use the Sharpsmart safety engineered system install and integrate this into approximately 95% of the hospital. For this reason, we have a number of customers who have removed the need to purchase disposable sharps containers.
