It is usual that the hospitals own portering team (or FM company, if applicable) will deliver and collect the containers. A detailed delivery and collection schedule is developed at each site and enhanced portering training is provided to ensure efficiency of storage and logistics. Once the Sharpsmart system is fully utilised and the optimisation process performed, is is typical that sharps related portering can be reduced by as much as 40%. In the event that the customer requires Sharpsmart to provide a dedicated ‘Sharpsmart Porter’ this can be provided as a cost neutral option and further enhances the delivery, collection and storage routines on site.
